Workspace Preparation: Maintain ISO 4406 Class 8/7/5 cleanliness in assembly area
Tool Requirements: Use only non-metallic installation tools (plastic/brass)
Temperature Control: Store and install at 15-25°C (59-77°F) for optimal seal performance
Surface Finish Verification:
Cylinder bore: Ra ≤ 0.4 µm, Rz ≤ 3.2 µm
Piston rod: Ra ≤ 0.2 µm, Rz ≤ 1.6 µm
Hardness: ≥ 58 HRC for chrome-plated surfaces
Component Inspection: Verify all parts against packing list CG-PL-22010
Surface Preparation:
Clean with solvent meeting ISO 11158:1997
Remove all burrs with 400-grit abrasive
Apply temporary corrosion inhibitor
Seal Installation Sequence:
Install wear bands first (heat to 80°C/176°F if necessary)
Install primary piston seals with COGENG installation cone P/N CG-IC-22010
Install rod seals with protective sleeve P/N CG-PS-22010
Torque gland nuts to 450-500 N·m (332-369 ft-lbs) in crisscross pattern
Post-Installation Procedures:
Pressure test at 5 MPa increments to 35 MPa
Cycle cylinder 10 times at 50% stroke
Final leak check at operating temperature (50-60°C)
⚠️ DO NOT use petroleum-based lubricants during installation
⚠️ DO NOT exceed 130°C operating temperature continuously
⚠️ REQUIRED: Install within 24 hours of opening vacuum-sealed packaging
⚠️ MANDATORY: Replace all bolts with new high-tensile fasteners (ISO 898-1 Class 10.9)
