Installation decomposition diagramPark excavator on level ground, lower attachment to ground
Engage parking brake and implement all safety locks
Turn ignition to OFF position and remove key
Disconnect negative battery terminal first
Wait 10 minutes for ECM capacitors to discharge
Tag and document existing cable routing and electrical connections
Installation Steps:Photograph existing governor motor configuration and dual cable routing
Carefully disconnect 7-pin electrical connector and mounting hardware
Note exact routing and adjustment of both throttle/governor cables
Install new COGENG governor motor using proper torque specifications (8-12 Nm)
Route dual cables following exact factory path with proper clearance
Connect 7-pin electrical connector ensuring positive engagement
Adjust both cable tensions according to factory specifications
Verify smooth throttle and governor linkage movement without binding
Calibration & Testing:Reconnect battery and initialize system
Perform governor and throttle calibration per Caterpillar service manual
Test complete operational range of both control systems
Verify proper engine speed regulation at all operating conditions
